The Avianna is a classically inspired home designed and built by John Cannon Homes and their in-house team of architectural and interior designers. The model home is located in The Concession Golf Course and Residences, where estate-sized homes are situated amid towering pines, majestic oak hammocks and protected wetlands all just a short drive away from the Concession’s award-winning Jack Nicklaus signature golf course and club. “The Avianna brings a true sense of luxury to The Concession. This model touches so many senses as you tour from room to room. The décor and space planning are well thought out to blend form and function in perfect harmony,” describes Mark Bruce, Director of Sales for The Concession.
“This grand estate is perfectly suited for the discriminating buyer at The Concession and we’re very excited to continue our tradition of building luxurious stately homes in this community,” adds John Cannon, President of John Cannon Homes. Stately Royal Palms flank the field paver walkway set in a running bond pattern in various shades of cream, beige and charcoal, leading you to arched double entry doors with wrought iron detailing and a brushed copper finish. The stone entablature above the entry and the Roman Doric stone columns, provide an aesthetically pleasing and beautiful transition to the entrance of the home. The subtle stone detailing at the front of the home is complimented by the rich colors of the large concrete barrel tiles. The colors of the Chicago Blend tiles selected, warm terra cotta, caramel and grey compliment the Sherwin-Williams selection of SW7012 Creamy as the paint color for the exterior, making the final product of these complimentary tones, textures, and finishes warm and inviting.
“We have a tradition of quality, but tradition doesn’t have to be unadventurous. In this home, the opposite is true. We continually raise our standards; in The Avianna you’ll find new design elements, products and technology. Volume ceilings with compelling designs, a variety of solid surface countertop finishes and the latest in kitchen and bath products,” comments Cannon.
Many details come together to create the enchanting curb appeal. The landscaping was done by ArtisTree Landscape Maintenance & Design. “I tried to draw on a mixture of tropical formal landscaping by using the large Royal Palm Trees and smaller Foxtail Palms, combined with flowering plants that can be changed seasonally. We wanted to keep landscape open and low so that it would not interfere with the beautiful stonework and architectural details of the front of the home,” explains Landscape Designer Shawn Gulbrandsen.
The rich yet subtle furnishings in the great room in soft muted shades of pale aqua, cinnabar, and beige with deep rich woods are complimented by the imported stone flooring with hand dressed edges in a warm cocoa color. Featured just off the entrance of the great room you’ll find a temperature controlled wine room with a wine racking system of Malaysian Mahogany manufactured by Wellington Wine Cellars.
Maple stained, rich cocoa brown wood paneled walls and a faux finished barrel ceiling accented by wood beams provides a grand entrance to the dining room. The bay of tall arched windows is outfitted in sumptuous floor to ceiling draperies that draw the eye up to note the details that are found at the coffered 12’ ceiling. The abundance of windows in the dining area invite both dramatic views of the lush green landscaping plus an infusion of brilliant light.
In the kitchen, a two-tone approach was taken with the custom made wood cabinetry. Rich maple cabinets, painted taupe and finished with a sable glaze surrounds the perimeter, while an oversized maple stained cocoa brown island anchors the space. All of the cabinetry and wood detailing in The Avianna was designed, built and installed by Albrecht Cabinets of Sarasota. Three timeless pendant lights illuminate the honed Kozmus granite topped island. The same granite was used as the Wolf 48” Dual Fuel Range backsplash flanked by pearl subway tiles. This cook’s kitchen would not be complete without the separate Sub-Zero 30”refrigerator and freezer, Wolf convection oven, warming drawer and at the dry bar, a separate Sub-Zero 24” drawer refrigerator. Hidden behind a matching panel door is a generous sized walk-in pantry.
With its disappearing sliding glass doors, the family room has the ability to be completely open to the outdoor living spaces. This configuration is ideal for entertaining and enjoying the outdoor seating areas either for dining or fun. In such a grand space, creating a comfortable atmosphere can be a challenge, but the interior design team at John Cannon Homes has achieved just that with its selections of furnishings and rich accent colors. Using multiple layers of texture, this expansive room was made to feel very warm and inviting. The rich wood coffee table, leather chair, and wood beamed ceiling details pop in contrast with the soft light blue pieces in the space. Another great use of juxtaposition is the jute rug, which brings a nice textural element to the room in contrast with the silk throw pillows.
Just off the study, the master bedroom is a welcome retreat. A spa-like atmosphere is created with a serene shade of blue and offers multiple areas for relaxing. The hickory brown distressed hardwood floors are softened with the pairing of crisp white linens, opulent silk draperies, and a plush white rug.
The spa-like atmosphere flows into The Avianna’s master bath. Resting atop a bed of stones is a luxurious free-standing ecru travertine oval soaking tub, with a cascading waterfall feature separating it from the dual-head walk-in shower, complete with garden views. From the deep wood ceiling beams to the maple stained, rich cocoa brown cabinetry, topped in a Rainforest Brown marble, this master bath is as impressive as it is relaxing.
At the rear of the home, you’ll find a bonus room with an adjacent cabana bar that features an indoor/outdoor kitchen with a 36” Wolf Grill, complete with a venting system that allows you to barbeque indoors or out. The bonus room with its’ exposed beam, tented cypress ceiling features an expansive seating area perfect for watching a movie, enjoying the big game or awaiting your turn at a game of pool.
Slide open the pocket doors to this room, and you’re ready to gather with friends and family at the outdoor dining area or escape to the free-standing Gazebo on strategically placed stepping stones from either side of the pool. “The back of the home is adjacent to a natural preserve and we wanted to enhance the woodsy feeling by balancing the nature with the gazebo. We used native oaks, palms and magnolias to create that feeling, along with colorful flowering annuals,” says Gulbrandsen. Pops of turquoise and cinnabar bring the indoor color scheme outside, and the neutral Gazebo panel curtains create a comfortable and private atmosphere.
“Homesite sales have blossomed and luxury buyers are again confident building larger luxury homes. The large one-acre home-sites give the owner flexibility to spread out, and not feel so close to neighbors. It’s about creating an estate type feel as much as anything. With only 236 home-sites spread over 700+ acres The Concession gives the discerning buyer a true sense of arrival. A place where lasting memories can be forged with family, friends, and neighbors,” describes Bruce.
