As the winter winds blow up north, the future owners of this home will have plenty of reasons to congratulate themselves on their decision to buy this beautiful oasis in Naples’ Quail West community.
Not only is the location spectacular—with four-bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths in 4,855 square feet—the home offers abundant space for friends and family to visit, and 1,458 square feet of outdoor living space to host them in style.
Stock Custom Homes Vice President Matt Sellick envisions a couple who enjoys visits from their grown children and grandchildren, making the Sophia II model their second home.
“They love to entertain and are enamored of the country club lifestyle,” says Sellick. “Naturally, they’d also enjoy the fabulous Naples weather.”
Claudine Leger-Wetzel, Stock’s vice president of sales and marketing, adds that what also makes the home so attractive is its innovative design. “It is a transitional design, moving away from the heavy Mediterranean homes of the past,” she says. “It is more modern, more open, and all parts of the architectural plan allow for the interior to be filled with light.”
Home designer Bill Weber says, “The Sophia II was designed with emerging markets in mind that were identified at the time of inception; many of these through the request of clients for simplicity, clean architectural sight lines, and as much natural light infiltration as possible.”
It was up to interior designer Daniel Killgore of Soco Interiors to translate those new ideas into a design scheme that is not only beautiful but eminently livable.
“Since the home is a relaxed coastal contemporary, I mixed in lots of textural and rustic elements—like natural stone, quartz, granite, and marble,” he says. “The builder trusted me with some new ideas and their trust shows in the delightful finished product. I love working with the Stock team. They build a great home.”
Dark gray roof tiles and turrets featuring open grillwork contrast beautifully with the ivory exterior of this Naples’ home. Charcoal pavers lead to the four-car garages. Second story vestibule windows and a glass and mahogany front door allow light to flood the home’s interior. State of the art Control 4 full-home automation furnished by Elxai Home powers the lighting, a high-end audio system, pool, and advanced security features.
The front parlor is where simplicity bespeaks serenity. Set against walls painted in Sherwin Williams Simple White, glass sliders overlook the pool and lake beyond. Guests relax on deep Vanguard club chairs clad in ivory linen with a Masland taupe rug underfoot. A gray leather ottoman is accented with a striking sculptural candleholder and Sherrill Furniture iron occasional tables with mirrored tops. A stacked stone wall hosts a linear fireplace. Dark cabinets with twin niches have Plexiglas-mounted custom art prints. The scene is lit by a Currey & Company silver leaf multi-tiered chandelier. Flooring is imported Turkish Corinthian Fossil limestone.
The raised portion of the bar is waterfall Boletus taupe quartz set with a quartet of Sunpan stools in white leather with nickel nail-head trim, lit by mirror pendants from Corbett Lighting. Wine displays, with room for 32 bottles, bookend a wet bar with Kohler sink and two Sub-Zero wine refrigerators. A champagne silver and Capiz shell chandelier from Corbett Lighting is suspended from the dining room’s coffered tray ceiling. A dark-stained wood top table from Lexington seats eight. Bernhardt host and hostess chairs are upholstered in light linen, while side chairs from Orient Express in gray linen are accented with nickel nailheads. A built-in floating console credenza has a frosted white quartz top above an ivory cabinet. Mirrored upper panels are separated by white shiplap for textural interest.
The kitchen overlooks the family room featuring a Lee Industries taupe linen sectional backed by a Bernhardt sofa table of reclaimed wood and chrome. Lamps are gray glass from Currey & Company and matching spherical silver leaf Crystorama chandeliers hang over the island and family room. Stained oak beams add detail to the perimeter soffit and crown moulding. A taupe chandelier with silver details by Arteriors hangs from the breakfast nook’s tray ceiling detail with stained tongue-and-groove. Custom gray linen chairs flank a light gray wood Bernhardt table.
A granite-topped island offers a prep sink from Kohler, as well as seating for six on gray Bernhardt stools with expresso legs. Under-lighted charcoal custom cabinetry is contrasted by the pumice glass glossy tile backsplash. Wolf/Sub-Zero appliances including a professional gas range along with a walk-in pantry make this kitchen a chef’s dream.
Killgore created custom taupe and ivory window treatments for the bay window in this classic master bedroom. Cox Furniture chaises separated by Sherrill nickel African drum tables look inward and outward. A hide rug provides interest beneath the espresso wood-topped table. The Bernhardt bed is upholstered in tan velvet with nail-head details and the two-tone bedding in mushroom and crisp white is by Eastern Accents. Visual Comfort glass ceramic lamps sit atop World’s Away mirrored nightstands. A Kichler nickel and glass chandelier hangs from the simple tray ceiling, highlighted by crown moulding and tongue-and-groove detail.
Taking its cue from the floor’s tan and brown Karya marble, this master bedroom is a study of in tone-ontone. Cabinetry in a rich ecru is topped by Arctic White quartz. The custom storage towers flanking the Kohler soaking tub include the “X” detailing found on the home’s front elevation. Crystal and polished nickel Currey & Company sconces provide a soft, diffused light.
This multi-use study is open to the rest of the home’s living area via French doors off the foyer. The two-toned built-in credenza, half Moonlight taupe and half dark weathered slate wood, serves as a perfect perch to display books and family treasures, while the matching table acts as a partners’ desk. The tufted Sunpan wingback chairs are upholstered in light linen and the window treatments are a Maxwell charcoal and ivory lattice patterned textile. The oval mirror reflects the light, as does the Regina Andrew herringbone mirrored cabinet.
The outdoor living area features a natural shell stone floor that continues out to the pool deck. A fireplace is set in a wall of European Ledge stone and provides warmth to the covered seating area. The dramatic pool features glass tiles, with hints of blue and gray, and a spa with a waterfall into the pool itself. Two gas fire bowls sit poolside, ready for the rare chilly night, and outdoor lounge chairs in dark iron with light Sunbrella cushions offer the perfect spot to recline and relax.
